HAULIN': Ikea, MotherCare & Eva's

Ola!

With the princess well on her way, what better way than to head down to Ikea to get some new furniture for our home right? So that's exactly what Sham and I did a day after my birthday. Plus, Ikea was having this special promotion for this TV console/entertainment center that was originally $129 but was going for $79 for members only, plus, that's a $50 save on our pockets, and every penny saved goes a long way!

I love the new console, with exta storage space and shelfs, it makes everything neater. DVD's go on the right, and on the left, i've put up some photo frames. We also picked up a new coffee table as our previous one was just wayyy to big, and was using it as a tv console, and what's great is that it's just $39!

Oh yes, remember in one of my previous post, i mentioned how i was going to get those coloured bins to store our baby's clothes? Instead of getting the Green and Pink like i had planned, i went instead with Pink and White. The green was a bright kinda green where as the Pink was more to a pastel tone, so the white was definitely a better choice. I was sorting out some clothes into the bins the other day. The big pink bins are for her onesies/rompers, dresses, pyjamas and diapers and the small white ones are for her mittens, bibs, socks, shorts, t-shirts, long pants etc. I'm still sorting them out everytime we buy something new, and just in case anyone is wondering, no i have not washed all of the clothes yet, am going to wash them closer to my delivery date so that they smell nice and fresh! :)

We also picked up a changing table for her and because it has that extra shelving under, that's where all the bins are at currently. (Yes my handbags are there for now only because we have not bought the changing mat for the top yet, so yup) See that shiny black bag in the second shelf though? That's my diaper bag! My brother bought it from Puma, and i love it! It's so big! :):)

We also went down to MotherCare to buy some onesies! They are just $50 for a pack of 7! Amazing! This time round we decided to get something which was unisex, so that we didn't have so many pink clothes. I loved the ones we picked out! They're so bright and colourful! Definitely heading back to buy more, good thick material, and well, MotherCare is just awesome! We also bought a dress which was just too adorable to say no to! That was going at $35.

I wouldn't say mother care is cheap though. But i do love their products and merchandise. We also found out that if we spend a total of SGD$300 in 3 months, we are entitled to their membership/vip card. So i'm keeping all receipts so that i can get that membership! :)

Sometime last week, i went down to Joo Chiat to have lunch with my mum and brother in which we decided to check out Joo Chiat complex and i'm so glad we did. On the second floor we came across a store selling baby products and i went absolutely crazy! I bought 22 items which worked out to a total of about $140 only!

There you can see i grabbed some mittens, socks, pacifiers, face towels, the wrap thingy for our baby's belly (baby binder?) and a very cute headband. Each item was nothing more than $7 and some of the mittens were just $2!! Then i saw this pyjamas and decided to get 2, they're not anything fancy, but good enough to sleep in. This was $6.50 each.

And because i like to save the best for last! Here's 2 dresses i picked up too! What i was pretty surprised at was, one of the dresses is a Laura Ashley dress! I actually think the owners of the store probably do not know that it's rather branded, because they were selling that dress for only $22.90!!!! Can you believe it! Definitely had to grab that too! It's the brown polka dot dress by the way. The other dress was slightly more expensive, $24.90 and just some brand in which i have never heard of, but i like it because its corduroy. Last 2 items i picked up was this 2 madly cute hats! One was $6.90 and the other $4.90.

If anyone is interested to check the shop out, here's the address;

They sell heaps of stuff so it's definitely a place to check out! I know i'll be heading down there again, and soon too! That's all i have for you lot for now! Oh, i bought this dress from Cotton On and i think it's so sexy because it shows off my baby bump! (Bought it in plain black, white and this nautical one) I'll be doing a post on my baby bump soon! Keep a lookout for that!

XOXO,

A baby brewing, again?!

I can't thank the people who have followed my blog from the get-go for all your words of encouragement and love. Thank you for pushing me to write again. It warms my heart to hear when my readers tell me they enjoyed reading my journey and somehow felt like they were right there with me too. Big love to you all.  Here i am sitting down and staring at the screen. I feel rusty. I haven't done this in a while. My last post was, well ages ago! But - hello! Seeing as i set up this baby blog of mine some 6 years ago, i felt it is only right that i continue writing in it seeing as, as most of you would know by now, i am baking baby number 2 in the oven! I'm in the last leg of my pregnancy now. I'd call it the 'uncomfortable' stage.  Where you feel like a whale,  your legs are sore,  your body's aching and the baby is kicking like there's no tomorrow.  But,  kicking is good.  Kick away baby,  so momma knows you're growing well.  So let's ...

Be your own woman.

I've been meaning to pen this down for a while. Something rather nasty happened to me over New Years which should not have happened, but it did. Lets just say that i was told by a man (not my boyfriend, for if he said such a thing we wouldn't be together)  that "Women need to be women - and you are not" . He went on to tell me something along the lines that the Man IS the man of the house . And i don't know if what he meant was that i should bow down and let a man do whatever in the household but that was how it sounded like to me. Now, for people who know me - they know i'm a very strong woman. I have had a pretty tough time growing up. Even harder paving my way through life. And the biggest change came when i had my beautiful daughter. But some how, i have pushed through and i can safely say - i'm in a good position in my life now. It WILL only get better. Prior to having my kid, i did not have much working experience. Yes, i worked in the F&B...

Checkup at the Docs!

So yesterday was my monthly check up with my Doc to see if our baby is doing well, im doing well etc. Was so excited to go down to see Dr Heng (She's attached to Parkway East Hospital) because then i finally get to see my little ninja during the ultrasound scan! Only thing i wasn't looking forward to was taking my blood test. I can take tattoos, i like getting inked. But needles, i can't take needles. Anyways, In December, i had to head down to the hospital to get a scan done. Think its called the 'Fetal Abnormality Scan', where they check if everything is growing at the proper rate, and all that jizz. So i collected the documents as well as the photos, though we couldn't get a 3D scan of her face because she absolutely refused to turn around to show her face on that day, so we don't have a frigging 3D scan. I'm quite bummed about that really. So the people at the hospital told me to make sure i bring it down to my next appointment visit with Dr Heng so ...
